WELFARE AND SAFEGUARDING

Welcome to Leamington Cycling and Athletic Club (Cycling Section) Welfare and Safeguarding page. Here you will find clear guidance on how we keep all members safe and how you can raise any concerns.

Introduction

Leamington Cycling and Athletic Club (the Club) is affiliated with British Cycling and fully adopts their safeguarding policies and procedures. These policies provide guidance on protecting children and adults at risk who take part in Club activities.

We are committed to ensuring the welfare of every member, regardless of age, gender, disability, race, religion, sexual orientation or background. All members have the right to enjoy Club activities in a safe, inclusive and supportive environment.

Club Policies

A Parental Consent and Information Form must be completed for any rider under 18 participating in Club activities.

Roles and Responsibilities

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility, but the Club appoints a Club Welfare Officer (CWO) to oversee welfare matters, promote best practice, and act as a point of contact for concerns relating to children or adults at risk.

Paul Edwards is the Club’s registered Welfare Officer. Paul holds a current British Cycling DBS certificate and has completed all required safeguarding training. He attends Club rides, events and social activities, and is available to support members, parents and volunteers.

If you have a safeguarding concern or require advice, please contact: leamingtoncycling@gmail.com
