One of the club's fastest men in the thirties Jack Knifton, a butcher from Warwick took up competitive cycling at the age of 20 having previously rdden long distance tours. He won his first ever race, a club 10, beating one of the most experienced riders in the Midlands, EH Bricknell by 38 seconds. In his first season he went on to win open events at 25, 30 and 50 miles, taking the prize of £3.00 in the Humber CC 25. In his second season he added the club's low gear 15 mile time trial on 60 or 63 inch gear, and the Speedwell 100. He was winner of the Vaughan aggregate cup in 1930 and 1931, but an injury to his hand in 1932 prevented him riding all the qualifying events. Jack's other claim to fame was being prosecuted in Evesham for failing to stop on his bicycle when directed to do so by a police constable in the execution of his duty! Some of his successes are:
