When Nadine's boyfriend joined the club to improve his cycling for
triathlons, Nadine decided to come along too and so by chance she started
cycling.
2003 - In her first full season of 2003, Nadine's successes included:
LC&AC women's champion at all distances; Club records at 5, 10, 15, 22 and
30 miles as well as the hillclimb; Female winner of four open events -
Rockingham Forest hilly, 45 Road Club 10, both LC&AC open 10 mile time
trials; Five second places - Corinium CC 10, Corinium CC 25, Gloucester City CC
30, Northampton & District CA 10, Chester RC 50.
2004 - Realising that she had a bit of the 'je ne sais quoi' for
cycling, Nadine decided to do some training for the 2004 season. So during the
winter of 2003/2004 she was to be found chasing the 'fast' LC&AC club group
around the lanes of Warwickshire on Sunday mornings. In 2004 season the training
paid off and Nadine's success's included: LC&AC women's champion at all
distances. New LC&AC ladies club records at 5, 10, 15, 22, 25, 30 and 50
miles as well as the hillclimb. Female winner of ten open events and second lady
prize in a further eight open events. By the end of the season Nadine was really
flying; setting a superb pb of 22 minutes and 43 seconds for ten miles, which
combined with her season's best 25 and 50 mile times made Nadine the 2004 CTC
Ladies BAR champion. Nadine also achieved top ten finishes in other national
competitions such as the British Time Trial Championship and the Rudy Project
Time Trial Series.
