Mick Ford

Mick Ford time trialling in the nineties

Mick has been cycling and time trialling since the sixties and is one of the very few members to have consistently ridden at more than 25mph over all distances up to 100 miles. In the sixties he recalls leaving home in Southampton in the small hours, cycling the 70 miles to Slough with racing wheels attached to the bike on wheel carriers. He would then race the 50 mile time trial and cycle home again.

He has been a member of Leamington since the early eighties and has some fast times and club records to his name, including:

  • 25 mile vets record in 2000 with 55:49, a 'plus' of 18:33
  • 30 mile personal best of 1:08:22 in 1991
