John Clarkson

John Clarkson started racing in 1990 as a member of Nottingham University CC. In 1993 He moved to Warwickshire, first joining the Kenilworth Wheelers and then the Leamington C&AC in 1995 where he also started cross country running and competing in duathlons. John was racing regularly up to 2000 after which back problems resulting in an operation in 2001 curtailed his activities. Currently he is back on the bike but only for short durations and is taking it steady.

John's best moments were beating the hour for 25 m twice in a weekend and winning the Ted and Doris Clifford Trophy (the club's combined running and cycling event) in two consecutive years.
